http://sportscience.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/jss/article/view/277

This study was conducted to address the problem of low leg muscle power among beginner volleyball players, which negatively affects the effectiveness of smash and block techniques. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of mud jumping exercise variations on leg muscle power in beginner players of the Rottan Volleyball Club, Kuala Betara District. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The research participants consisted of all beginner players at the Rottan Volleyball Club, totaling 13 athletes, selected using a total sampling technique. The training intervention involved structured mud jumping exercise variations as a modified plyometric program. Leg muscle power was measured using a vertical jump test, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in leg muscle power following the mud jumping training program. The average post-test vertical jump scores were higher than the pre-test scores, and the results of the paired-sample t-test indicated a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test measurements. It can be concluded that mud jumping exercise variations have a significant effect on improving leg muscle power in beginner volleyball players. Therefore, mud jumping exercises can be recommended as an effective and practical training method to enhance lower limb explosive power in beginner volleyball athletes
Dicky MaskuridoSukendro SukendroSugih Suhartini

http://sportscience.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/jss/article/view/266

The use of audio-visual media is crucial for increasing the effectiveness of the learning process because it combines images and sounds that engage students. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in students' learning interest in learning using audio-visual media. This study aimed to determine the effect of applying audio-visual media on increasing students' learning interest in learning basic volleyball overhead passing movements. Researchers collected data using a quantitative approach and pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Treatment was given for four meetings using audio-visual media with 60 eighth-grade students at MTs Sunan Giri. To measure students' learning interest, whose validity and reliability had been tested, researchers used a Likert scale questionnaire. Researchers used the SPSS application to analyze data with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests. After implementing learning using audio-visual media, students' learning interest increased significantly. When compared, the posttest results were higher than the pretest results, indicating that during the learning process, the use of audio-visual media was effective in increasing students' enthusiasm. Students benefit greatly from audiovisual media, enabling them to understand the basic movements of the overhead pass more concretely through engaging and clear visual displays. It can be concluded that the use of audiovisual media can make learning more effective and innovative, increasing student interest in learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of audiovisual media is an effective learning innovation for increasing student interest in learning
Nada Amelia PrasetyantiMochamad Ridwan

2026-01-262026-01-26261612THE EFFECT OF THE FILANESIA METHOD USING DIAMOND PASSING TRAINING ON IMPROVING PASSING ACCURACY IN 12-YEARS-OLD SOCCER PLAYERS
http://sportscience.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/jss/article/view/289

This study aims to determine the effect of the Filanesia method combined with Diamond Passing training on improving Passing accuracy in 12-year-old soccer players. The research method used was an experiment with a pretest–posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of 24 12-year-old soccer players divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was given Passing training using the Filanesia method with a Diamond Passing model, while the control group was given conventional Passing training. Passing accuracy was measured before and after treatment using a standardized Ball Holding Test (Passing and Stopping). The statistical analysis showed a significant improvement in both groups, but the experimental group's Passing accuracy was significantly greater. Based on the paired sample t-test, the experimental group achieved a Sig. 0.000 < 0.05, while the control group achieved a Sig. 0.002 < 0.05. Meanwhile, the independent sample t-test showed a Sig. 0.000 < 0.05, with a higher mean difference in the experimental group. These findings demonstrate that the Filanesia method with Diamond Passing training provides a significantly stronger effect than conventional training. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Filanesia method combined with Diamond Passing training is an effective, comprehensive, and appropriate training approach for improving Passing accuracy in 12-year-old soccer players.
Hilmi Faiz YasykurBambang ErawanRidha Mustaqim

http://sportscience.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/jss/article/view/283

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the level of front roll skills among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Jenggotan, Andong, Boyolali Regency. A quantitative descriptive design with a survey method was employed, involving all 20 students as research participants through total sampling. Data were collected using a front roll practical test assessing three aspects: starting position, movement execution, and finishing position, and were analyzed descriptively using mean and standard deviation. The results showed a mean score of 6.70 (SD = 1.53), indicating that students’ front roll skills were generally in the low to moderate category. These findings suggest that students have not yet mastered the front roll skills optimally, highlighting the need for more structured and effective floor gymnastics instruction in physical education learning
Dhany SulaimanNur SubektiNurhidayat Nurhidayat
