This study aims to analyze the level of student interest in participating in basketball extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Gondang based on intrinsic and extrinsic factors and to examine differences in interest based on gender. This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive survey approach involving 25 students who were active participants in the basketball extracurricular program, selected using total sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire adapted from previous research. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Independent Samples t-test, Repeated Measures ANOVA, and the Bonferroni post-hoc test. The results showed that the average level of interest among male students (M = 2.508) was higher than that of female students (M = 2.454); however, there was no significant difference based on gender (p = 0.127). There was a significant difference in the intrinsic factors (F = 2.58; p = 0.011), with the interest factor being the most dominant. Additionally, there was a significant difference in the extrinsic factors (F = 61.80; p < 0.001), where the environmental and coach factors had the strongest influence on students’ interest. This study demonstrates that increasing student participation in basketball extracurricular activities requires strengthening intrinsic motivation, supported by a conducive school environment and effective coaching. The novelty of this study lies in its simultaneous analysis of intrinsic and extrinsic factors, as well as a gender-based comparison of students’ interest in participating in basketball extracurricular activities in the context of high school
Kelvin Triandi Renaldi Abdul Rachman Syam Tuasikal ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-07-31 2026-07-31 26 2 1 12 Analysis of the Correlation Between Anxiety Levels and the Performance of Wushu Taolu Athletes in the Qualifying Round of the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Championships http://sportscience.ppj.unp.ac.id/index.php/jss/article/view/304
Anxiety levels can affect an athlete’s performance, particularly in sports like wushu taolu, which demand concentration, technical precision, and emotional stability. The Qualifying Round of the XVII/2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) Wushu Taolu is a high-pressure competitive event because it determines athletes’ advancement to the next stage, thereby potentially increasing anxiety before competition. This situation can lead to a decline in performance if not properly managed. This study was conducted to examine the correlation between anxiety and the performance of wushu taolu athletes in provincial-level competitions. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method using a correlational approach and a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 49 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Anxiety was measured using the CSAI-2R, and performance was based on judges’ scores. Data analysis was performed using the nonparametric Spearman’s rank correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 30. The results showed that the athletes’ anxiety levels were in the low category (10%), moderate category (76%), and high category (14%). Meanwhile, athletes’ performance was categorized as low (11%), moderate (56%), and high (33%). The Spearman Rank correlation test yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.642 with a significance level of p < 0.001, indicating a strong relationship between anxiety levels and the performance of wushu taolu athletes. There is a significant correlation between anxiety levels and the performance of wushu taolu athletes. This relationship is positive, meaning that an increase in anxiety is followed by an increase in performance during competitions.
Diva Melani Putri Dewi Anggraeni Iqbal Indra Awaludin ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-07-07 2026-07-07 26 2 13 20
